En reconquérant les espaces autour du port de Strasbourg sur le Rhin, le projet "Deux-Rives" poursuit le développement de la ville à l'est. La dimension paysagère structurante de l'eau, basée sur la riche géo-histoire du site, relie l'infrastructure industrielle des canaux, des docks et des bassins à une trame verte d'espaces publics fertiles inspirés des forêts alluviales du Rhin. Le tramway transfrontalier traverse ce paysage spectaculaire, reliant les nouveaux quartiers riverains au centre-ville et à l'Allemagne. Il s'agit d'une ville hybride, où les rives et les îles sont des connecteurs urbains, et où coexistent ville et port, mobilité douce et nature sauvage.

Reclaiming areas around the Strasbourg’s port on the Rhine, the ‘Deux-Rives’ project continues the city’s development to the east. The structuring landscape dimension of water, based on the rich geo-history of the site, links the industrial infrastructure of canals, docks and basins with a green framework of fertile public spaces inspired by the alluvial forests of the Rhine. The cross-border tram traverses this spectacular landscape, linking new waterside quarters to the city centre and to Germany; this is a hybrid city, where the riverbanks and islands are urban connectors, and city and port, soft mobility and wild nature coexist.
